2007 was an exceptional year for discerning cinemaphiles. My favorite film of the year was the little movie that could - a sweet, funny, hip little indie comedy called “Juno.” Other highlights included many fine films from the likes of Paul Thomas Anderson (Boogie Nights, Magnolia), Craig Brewer (Hustle & Flow), Sidney Lumet (Dog Day Afternoon, Network), the Coen Brothers (Fargo, The Big Lebowski), Paul Haggis (Crash), Julie Taymor (Titus, Frida), Ken Loach (My Name is Joe, Sweet Sixteen), Kenneth Branagh (Hamlet, Henry V) as well as a newcomer in John Carney (Once)!
